3. Technical Documentation (Article 11)

5. Human Oversight (Article 14)
High-risk systems must be designed to allow effective human oversight. This means:
- Humans must be able to fully understand the system's capacities and limitations
- Humans must be able to correctly interpret outputs
- Humans must be able to decide not to use the system, override, or reverse its output
- Humans must be able to intervene or halt the system

Automate documentation. Treating AI Act documentation as a manual process guarantees it will be out of date within weeks. Integrate documentation generation into your CI/CD pipelines. Every model training run should auto-generate a compliance artifact.
Build compliance into the architecture, not around it. Retrofitting logging, human oversight, and audit trails onto existing systems is expensive and error-prone. If you are building new AI systems, design for compliance from day one.
Do not wait for national implementation. While EU member states will establish their own enforcement bodies and may add procedural details, the core technical requirements in the regulation are directly applicable. Waiting for national guidance is a risky strategy.
Treat this as a competitive advantage. Organizations that achieve robust AI governance will have a marketable differentiator, particularly in B2B and public sector sales. Compliance is a feature, not just a cost.
